JuzePOS Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 31, 2026 · Operator: Juze Pay / JuzePOS · Contact: support@juzepos.com
This Privacy Policy describes how JuzePOS (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when merchants and their staff use the JuzePOS mobile and web point-of-sale applications and related services (the “Service”).
1. Who this applies to
JuzePOS is a business point-of-sale platform for merchants. Accounts are created for merchant businesses and their authorized staff. End customers may appear in orders (name, email, phone) when a merchant records that information during a sale.
2. Information we collect
- Account & staff data: name, email, role, authentication credentials (stored hashed), optional PIN.
- Merchant business data: store profile, catalog, orders, refunds, pricing, payout bank details (encrypted at rest), KYC-related information processed via our identity partner (Socure) when enabled.
- Payment data: payment method type and transaction results. Card and Tap to Pay payments are processed by our payment processors; we do not store full card numbers on JuzePOS servers. Merchant payouts are sent by ACH to the bank account you provide.
- Device permissions (mobile): camera (barcode scanning), location (required for Tap to Pay), NFC, Bluetooth (receipt printers / contactless readers), and related OS-level permission prompts.
- Technical data: IP address, device identifiers, device/app version, and logs needed for security, fraud prevention, and reliability.
- Customer contact data (when a merchant records it): name, email, and mobile phone number used for receipts, payment links, loyalty, and (only with consent) promotional SMS.
3. How we use information
- Provide POS checkout, catalog, orders, analytics, promotions, and receipts.
- Process payments and settle merchant payouts.
- Authenticate users, prevent fraud/abuse, and meet legal obligations.
- Send transactional and consented SMS/email (verification codes, payment links, receipts, order updates, and merchant marketing where opted in) via providers such as Twilio.
- Improve reliability and support.
4. SMS / text messaging (JuzePOS Alerts)
JuzePOS operates the JuzePOS Alerts SMS program for participating merchant stores. Messages may include secure payment links, order receipts, order/pickup updates, loyalty notices, and promotional offers when the customer has opted in. Full program terms are at Terms — SMS and SMS Program & Opt-in.
- Mobile numbers are not sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for those parties’ own marketing. We share numbers only with service providers needed to deliver messages (for example Twilio) and as otherwise described in this policy.
- Message frequency varies based on purchases, requests, and store activity (typically a few messages per month; more if you request payment links or receipts often).
- Message and data rates may apply. Carrier charges are your responsibility.
- Opt out: Reply STOP to cancel. Reply HELP for help, or email support@juzepos.com.
5. Sharing
We share data with service providers only as needed to run the Service, including:
- Payment processors (card / Tap to Pay), including Stripe, which collects a device identifier for fraud prevention and security
- Banking partners (merchant ACH payouts)
- Socure (merchant KYC when enabled)
- Email/SMS providers (e.g. SMTP, Twilio) for verification and notifications
- Cloud hosting providers that operate our infrastructure
We do not sell personal information. We do not share mobile phone numbers with third parties or affiliates for their independent marketing. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the Service and our users.
6. Retention
We retain account, order, and settlement records for as long as needed to provide the Service, meet accounting/tax/legal requirements, and resolve disputes. You may request deletion of a merchant account subject to legal retention needs.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures including encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and field-level encryption for sensitive payout bank details. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
8. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Your choices
- Staff can update profile information in the app where available.
- Merchants and staff can request access, correction, or deletion by contacting us. See Account & Data Deletion for the steps and what we delete versus retain.
- Device permissions can be revoked in OS settings; some features (camera scan, Tap to Pay, Bluetooth printing) will not work without them.
- Customers may opt out of JuzePOS Alerts SMS by replying STOP, or ask a merchant to mark their profile as opted out of marketing.
10. International / California notices
If you are a California resident or located outside the United States, contact us for privacy requests. We process data to perform our contract with the merchant and for legitimate interests in operating a secure POS platform.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above will change when we post updates at https://juzepos.com/privacy.html.
