1. Introduction
JuzePOS is a cloud point-of-sale platform for retail and specialty merchants. This manual covers the merchant web dashboard at https://juzepos.com (or your branded domain).
- Owners — full access including bank setup, staff, and billing-related settings.
- Managers — catalog, promotions, analytics, Insights, and most settings.
- Cashiers — POS, orders, customers, and basic settings.
2. Getting started checklist
- Create your merchant account (business info + verified email and phone).
- Sign in with your owner credentials.
- Add your payout bank account (Settings → Payments). JuzePOS collects card/ACH sales, deducts fees, and sends net proceeds via ACH on a T+2 schedule (two calendar days later).
- Add products in Catalog.
- Optional: add store locations under Settings → Locations (plan limits apply).
- Optional: register terminals and configure receipt printers in Settings.
- Optional: ask JuzePOS to enable ProofMile last-mile delivery (see ProofMile delivery).
- Optional (Starter+): enable Settings → Loyalty so customers can earn and redeem points at POS.
- Start selling from the POS screen.
3. Create your account
Go to Sign up from the login page or visit /signup. Registration is a 3-step wizard.
Step 1 — Business information
Enter your business display name, legal name, and URL slug. The slug becomes your storefront identifier (e.g. your-store.juzepos.com).
Step 2 — Owner account & verification
You must verify both email and phone before continuing:
- Click Send code for email — enter the 6-digit code from your inbox, then click Verify.
- Enter phone in E.164 format (e.g.
+15551234567), send SMS code, and verify. - Set a password (minimum 8 characters) and confirm it.
Step 3 — Choose a plan
Select Free, Starter, or Pro. You can change plans later. Click Create Account to finish. Juze Insights is included on Pro and Enterprise. On Free and Starter it is a $79/month add-on under Settings → Payments. See Insights.
4. Add your payout bank account
JuzePOS does not collect bank account numbers during signup. After your first login, add the business bank account that should receive T+2 ACH payouts:
- Sign in as the owner. You may land on Settings → Payments automatically after registration.
- Enter your account holder name, routing number, account number, and business address.
- Save the form. You may be redirected to Socure for identity verification. Bank details are encrypted at rest; you remain payout-eligible by default unless KYC rejects the account.
- Return to JuzePOS — status should show Bank account connected.
5. Sign in
Open https://juzepos.com/login, enter your owner or staff email and password, and click Sign In.
Platform administrators are redirected to the Admin Portal. Store staff are redirected to the POS.
6. Dashboard overview
After login, the left sidebar provides navigation:
| Menu | Description | Typical roles |
|---|---|---|
| POS | Ring up sales and take payment | All |
| Orders | View and manage order history | All |
| Customers | Customer profiles (loyalty on Starter+) | All |
| Catalog | Products, categories, pricing | Manager, Owner |
| Promos | Discounts and coupon codes | Manager, Owner |
| Campaigns | Email/SMS marketing sends | Manager, Owner |
| Analytics | Sales reports and KPIs | Manager, Owner |
| Insights | Store briefing from your own sales: pace, mix, reorder, and idle stock | Manager, Owner |
| Staff | User accounts and PINs | Manager, Owner |
| Settings | Store, payments, terminals, receipts, loyalty | All (Payments: Owner only) |
7. Point of Sale (POS)
The POS is your primary checkout screen.
Choosing a location
If your account has more than one store, use the location selector in the POS header (web) so tax and inventory apply to the correct store. Cashiers with a home location are defaulted to that store. On mobile, orders use the staff member’s assigned home location when set.
Ringing up a sale
- Browse products by category or search by name/SKU.
- Tap a product to add it to the cart (choose variant if prompted).
- Adjust quantities with + / −, apply promo codes or discounts.
- Optionally attach a customer (email or phone) for receipts and loyalty.
- On Starter or higher with loyalty enabled, redeem points for a cart discount before charging (use Max or enter points).
- Click Charge. Hand the screen to the customer so they can choose a tip (or No tip), then select a payment method and complete the charge.
- After payment, visits earn loyalty points when your program is enabled (see Loyalty rewards).
Payment methods
| Method | When to use |
|---|---|
| Cash | In-store cash; enter amount tendered for change |
| Card | Manual keyed entry in Card Details (use this when the card has no tap / contactless). Card-not-present checkout; payouts settle on a T+2 schedule. |
| Tap to Pay | Contactless only — present the card or mobile wallet to the paired Tap to Pay reader |
| Wallet / ACH | JuzePay wallet or bank debit (vertical-dependent) |
| Split | Part cash, part card |
After payment
After payment, the success screen shows the amount charged and payment method. You can email or print a receipt, request delivery, start a New Order, or open View transaction details for line items, payment reference, and (for owners/managers) refunds. Every completed sale also appears under Orders.
Today’s sales
The sidebar and the POS search row show Today with the dollar total and the number of sales. That line counts completed sales since local midnight. Open, held, and voided tickets are not included. Cashiers see the same total. The mobile app shows it on POS and under More.
Discount codes
Enter a code in Promo code… and click Apply, or tap an active code chip. By default a sale accepts one code. A second code is refused until an owner or manager turns on Multiple discount codes under Promos. See Promotions.
Customer ID photo
Checkout can stop and ask for a photo of the customer’s ID. Owners and managers choose the rules under Settings → Integrations → When to photograph an ID. Age-restricted products require a photo on every tender unless that rule is turned off. An optional second rule requires a photo when the payment is at or above a minimum you set, and only for the tenders you select. See Settings.
Delivery on the register
When you choose Delivery, the address fields grow inside the order panel. Subtotal, tax, total, Charge, and Hold stay pinned at the bottom so checkout remains on screen. Delivery is quoted only after this store location has a street, city, state, and ZIP. You can fill that pickup address on the POS delivery panel or under Settings → Locations.
8. Orders
Browse open, held, completed, voided, and refunded orders. Click any row to open Transaction details: items, subtotal/tax/tip/total, payment method, and receipt actions (email or print).
Void vs refund
- Void — cancel an unpaid open or held order before payment. Owners and managers can void from Transaction details (or the Void shortcut on the Orders list). A voided order cannot be paid later.
- Refund — reverse a completed / paid sale (full or partial). Use refund when money was already collected.
Refunds
Owners and managers can issue a full or partial refund from Transaction details (or the Refund shortcut on a completed order). Enter a required reason. Partial refunds leave a refundable balance so you can refund the remainder later; a full refund (or refunding the remaining balance) marks the order refunded and restores inventory. Cashiers can view transaction details and send receipts but cannot void or refund.
9. Catalog
Managers and owners maintain products and categories here. Each product can have a name, SKU, price, image, category, and optional variants.
- Add Product — create new sellable items.
- Categories — organize the POS product grid.
- Inactive products are hidden from POS but kept in the database.
10. Customers
Look up or create customer profiles at checkout or from the Customers page. To build a marketing list, open Customers → Add Customer and save Name plus Email and/or Phone. Attach a customer on POS to:
- Earn and redeem loyalty points (Starter plan or higher — see Loyalty rewards)
- Pre-fill receipt email/SMS
- Track purchase history and visit count
Open a customer profile to see loyalty balance, total spend, visits, and marketing opt-out status. Owners/managers with the loyalty.adjust permission can manually add or redeem points when loyalty is available on your plan.
11. Loyalty rewards
JuzePOS includes a merchant-managed loyalty points program on Starter, Pro, and Enterprise. It is not available on the Free plan (Free still includes customer profiles).
Configure your program
- Open Settings → Loyalty (owners/managers).
- If you see an upgrade message, switch to Starter or higher under Settings → Payments / billing, then return here.
- Turn on Enable loyalty program.
- Set your rules:
- Points earned per $1 spent — e.g. 1 = one point per dollar
- Redemption value (¢ per point) — e.g. 1 = $0.01 off per point
- Minimum points to redeem
- Welcome bonus points — granted when a customer joins via your signup link (or is created in CRM while the program is enabled)
- Click Save Loyalty Program.
Share your signup link
- With the program enabled, open Settings → Loyalty.
- Under Share signup link, copy the unique URL (
/loyalty/your-store-slug), show the QR code, or share via SMS/email. - Customers enter their name and phone (email optional). They are added to your Customers list and may receive a welcome bonus.
Earn points at POS
- Look up a signed-up customer on the POS cart by phone (or email).
- Complete the sale as usual.
- After payment, JuzePOS records the visit and awards points using your earn rate (when the program is enabled).
Redeem points at POS
- Attach a customer who has enough points (at or above your minimum).
- In the cart panel, enter points to redeem or click Max.
- Confirm the dollar discount shown, then charge the order.
12. Promotions & campaigns
Promotions (Promos)
Create percentage or fixed discounts and promo codes under Promos → New Promotion. Set the code, discount type/value, dates, and status to Active. Cashiers enter codes in the POS Promo code… field and click Apply before checkout.
Multiple discount codes
On Promos, the Multiple discount codes switch is off by default. A sale then accepts one code. If someone enters a second code, the register refuses it and keeps the first code.
Turn the switch on when a sale should stack codes. Each code applies to the amount left after the previous code. The same code cannot be entered twice. The cart lists every code, and every code is redeemed when the sale is paid. The same switch is on the mobile app under More → Promos & Campaigns.
Campaigns
Send marketing email or SMS blasts to opted-in customers from Campaigns (Pro plan or Marketing add-on). Add customer email/phone under Customers first, optionally link a promotion, then launch. Promo codes remain available on all plans. Ensure compliance with local marketing consent rules. See also FAQ.
13. Analytics
Review sales trends, order counts, and average ticket size. Use date presets (Today / Week / Month) or a custom range. When you have more than one store, filter by Location or view the By Location breakdown (shown when All locations is selected). Analytics helps owners and managers make staffing and inventory decisions.
14. Insights
Juze Insights reads this store’s own completed sales and tracked inventory. It does not use other retailers’ sales. Owners and managers open it from Insights in the sidebar.
What you see
- Pace — sales, tickets, and average ticket against the previous window of the same length.
- What sold — the products that brought in the most, and category and tender mix when the catalog has categories.
- Which days pay — weekday totals and the busiest hours, in the store’s timezone.
- What to order — tracked items that will not cover about 14 days, how many are on hand, and what an empty shelf is on pace to miss this week.
- What is sitting still — tracked stock with no sales in the window, or more than 45 days of cover, valued at cost when a cost is on the product.
- Who rang it up — sales by staff, plus how many tickets had a customer and how many of those customers came back. Refunds and discounts are called out when they happened.
- Gross margin — shown when products have a cost. Otherwise the card shows discounts.
Pro and other unlocked plans read the last 30 days. Enterprise reads the last 7 days. Only products set to track inventory are included.
Who has it
- Pro and Enterprise — included.
- Free and Starter — the owner adds it under Settings → Payments, on the subscription card, with Add Insights ($79/month). That amount is added to the existing monthly subscription. Remove stops the add-on on the next renewal.
Email brief
The same brief is emailed to the store owner address. Pro, Starter, and Free (when the add-on is on) receive it on the 1st of each month. Enterprise receives it every Monday.
15. Staff management
Owners and managers can add staff accounts under Staff. Each person gets their own login (email and password) so you can track which team member handled which sales and refunds.
- Open Staff and add a team member.
- Enter their name, email, password, role, optional home location, and optional PIN.
- Have them sign in with those credentials on web or mobile — do not share one shared cashier login.
Assigning a home location helps multi-store merchants: POS defaults to that store and new orders are stamped with the location for tax and reporting.
Roles:
- Cashier — POS, orders, customers, basic settings
- Manager — catalog, promos, campaigns, analytics, Insights, staff
- Owner — full access including payout bank setup
When a cashier rings up a sale, JuzePOS stores that staff member on the order. Refunds also record who processed them. Cashiers may use a PIN for quick manager approvals on sensitive actions.
16. Settings
Open Settings from the sidebar. Tabs include:
| Tab | Purpose |
|---|---|
| General | Store name, timezone, currency, and default sales tax rate (%) |
| Locations | Add and manage store addresses; optional per-location tax rate. Plan limits: Free 1, Starter 3, Pro 10, Enterprise unlimited. You must keep at least one active location. |
| Payments | Payout bank account, KYC, and the JuzePOS subscription (owners only). Add or remove the Juze Insights add-on here. |
| Terminals | Register tablets and mobile POS devices; optionally assign each terminal to a location |
| Integrations | Card payments (keyed + Tap to Pay), when to photograph an ID, daily payouts, and ProofMile delivery. Tutorial: ProofMile delivery. |
| Developer | API keys and webhooks for your own website. Tutorial: Payments API. Reference: /developers. Owners and managers (Starter+). |
| Notifications | Auto email/SMS receipts, footer text |
| Receipts | Printer type (browser, Star CloudPRNT, Epson), auto-print, CloudPRNT poll URL, test print. Bluetooth ESC/POS on mobile (Android). See Compatible devices. |
| Loyalty | Enable and configure the loyalty points program (Starter+; Free shows upgrade guidance). See Loyalty rewards. |
| Marketplace | Publish a self-branded online storefront (Pro/Enterprise or marketplace add-on) |
Managing locations
- Open Settings → Locations.
- Click Add location (if your plan allows another store).
- Enter the store name, address, and optional location-specific tax rate.
- Save. New locations appear in the POS location picker and in staff/terminal assignment lists.
On the mobile app, owners and managers can manage the same location list from More → Locations.
When to photograph an ID
Open Settings → Integrations → When to photograph an ID. On the mobile app the same controls are under Settings → ID PHOTO. Photos are encrypted and deleted after 18 months. A photo is evidence if a cardholder disputes a charge. It does not decide the dispute.
- Age-restricted products — on by default. Every tender requires a photo when the cart has an age-restricted item, with no minimum amount. The ID must be a driver’s license, state ID, or passport, unexpired, and the date of birth must show the customer is 21 or older. Turn this off if those products should not require a photo.
- Payments at or above a minimum — off by default. When you turn it on, set the minimum in dollars (at least $0.50; the starting value is $100). On a split payment the rule uses the card portion. Otherwise it uses the order total.
- Tenders for the amount rule: keyed card (including the card part of a split) and customer pay link are on by default. Tap to Pay, cash, ACH, and wallet are off until you turn them on.
If both rules apply, the age-restricted photo is required first.
17. Password reset
From the login page, click Forgot password?. Enter your email, receive a verification code, then set a new password.
18. Mobile app
The JuzePOS mobile app (iOS/Android) supports staff login, POS checkout, and account signup/forgot-password flows. Use the same owner email and password as the web dashboard. Mobile signup follows the same email + SMS verification steps.
After a successful payment, the app shows the charged amount with View transaction details and New Order. Tap any order on the Orders tab for the same detail sheet (items, totals, email receipt). Owners and managers can issue full or partial refunds from there.
Owners and managers can manage marketing from More → Promos & Campaigns: create discount codes, turn Multiple discount codes on or off, plan email/SMS campaigns, launch or pause campaigns, and archive offers. Cashiers can still apply an active promo code at POS checkout. The POS screen and the More menu also show Today’s sales for completed sales since local midnight.
19. Compatible devices (NFC & printers)
JuzePOS does not require a dedicated card terminal. Contactless NFC payments and receipt printers are documented on the public Compatible devices page.
Tap to Pay (NFC)
- Android 13+ phones and many NFC tablets — JuzePOS mobile app
- iPhone / iPad — Tap to Pay not available yet; use keyed Card entry
- Web POS — use the mobile app on Android for NFC
Receipt printers
- Browser Print — any OS-paired USB / Bluetooth / Wi‑Fi printer (web)
- Star CloudPRNT — Star Micronics Wi‑Fi / Ethernet thermals
- Epson ePOS — Epson network thermals with ePOS-Print
- Bluetooth ESC/POS — generic Bluetooth thermals on Android only
Configure under Settings → Receipts (web) or Settings → Printer (mobile). Use Test Print after setup.
20. ProofMile delivery
ProofMile is JuzePOS last-mile delivery. When JuzePOS enables it for your store, cashiers and online shoppers can choose Delivery, pay a delivery fee, and a courier is dispatched after payment. Full steps: ProofMile merchant tutorial.
- Put a complete street, city, state, and ZIP on each pickup location under Settings → Locations.
- Ask JuzePOS support to run ProofMile setup. Confirm Settings → Integrations shows Enabled and Linked.
- On POS, choose Delivery, confirm this store’s pickup street, city, state, and ZIP, enter the drop-off address (and phone), confirm the fee, then take payment. Tracking appears on the success screen. Totals and Charge stay at the bottom of the cart while the delivery fields are open.
- If dispatch did not auto-run, use Request Delivery after pay.
- Optional: opt in to List my inventory on ProofMile. Inbound ProofMile Marketplace orders appear after the buyer pays — pack the order, then tap Ready for driver before a courier is dispatched.
The delivery fee is charged to the customer and is not included in JuzePOS platform fees. Logged-in merchants can open this tutorial anytime from the sidebar ProofMile guide or Settings.
21. Payments API (your own website)
If you already have an online store or booking page, use the Payments API so JuzePOS takes the card, shares inventory with the POS, and pays out to the same bank account. Full steps: Payments API merchant tutorial. Curl and webhook details: Developers.
- Owner or manager: open Settings → Developer, create a key, copy
jz_live_…once. Keep it on your server only. - Hosted checkout: your server
POST /v1/checkouts, then send the shopper tocheckoutUrl. Confirm withGET /v1/payments/:idor thepayment.succeededwebhook — not just the success page. - Direct charge: collect the card on your site with Stripe or Square, then
POST /v1/paymentswith the token. - Prefer catalog
lineItems(productId) so online sales decrement the same stock as the counter.
v1 covers card checkout, charge, retrieve, refunds, catalog, and signed webhooks. It does not take cash, ACH, Tap to Pay, or ProofMile on API checkouts. Include tax in the amount you send. Logged-in merchants can open the tutorial from the sidebar Payments API.
22. Frequently asked questions
How can I change the sales tax rate to 7%?
Owners and managers can set the store sales tax rate in Settings. POS uses this rate for new sales.
Web
- Open Settings → General.
- Enter 7 in Sales tax rate (%).
- Click Save Settings.
Mobile app
- Open Settings.
- Under Tax, enter 7 in Sales tax rate (%).
- Tap Save Settings.
Where do I enter card information if the card does not have tap?
Use the Card payment method (manual keyed entry) on web POS or the mobile app. Tap / Tap to Pay is only for contactless cards or mobile wallets.
Web POS
- Build the cart, then click Charge.
- Let the customer choose a tip (15% / 18% / 20%, Custom, or No tip), then continue.
- In the Payment step, select Card (not Tap).
- Enter the card number, expiration date, and CVC in the Card Details field.
- Click Complete Payment.
Mobile app
- Build the cart, then tap Charge.
- Let the customer choose a tip, then continue to payment.
- In Select Payment, choose Card (not Tap to Pay).
- Enter the card number, expiration, and CVC under Card Details.
- Tap Complete Payment.
Does each cashier have their own login so we can track who handled a sale?
Yes. Create a separate staff account for each cashier under Staff (owners/managers). Each person signs in with their own email and password. JuzePOS ties every order—and every refund—to the signed-in staff member, so the store can see who handled which transaction. Avoid sharing one login across the register.
How do I void an unpaid order?
Owners and managers can void open or held orders that have not been paid.
- Open Orders and select an open or held order (or click Void on the row).
- In Transaction details, click Void Order and confirm.
How do I view a completed transaction or refund a customer?
Open Transaction details right after payment, or later from Orders.
Web
- After Complete Payment, click View transaction details — or go to Orders and click the order row.
- Review items, tax, tip, total, and payment method.
- Owners/managers: click Issue Refund (or Refund on the Orders row), choose full or partial amount, enter a reason, and process.
Mobile app
- After payment, tap View transaction details — or open Orders and tap the order card.
- Review the sale summary and optionally email a receipt.
- Owners/managers: tap Issue Refund, choose full or partial, enter a reason, and confirm.
How do we save customer information for marketing, and how do we run promotions?
Add customer information
- Open Customers in the sidebar and click Add Customer.
- Enter at least a Name. Add Email and/or Phone so you can send marketing campaigns and receipts.
- Optionally add Notes (preferences, VIP status, etc.) and save.
- You can also look up or create a customer on the POS using the “Customer email or phone…” field before payment — this attaches them to the sale for loyalty and history.
Run a promotion (discount code)
- Open Promos and click New Promotion.
- Set the promotion name, promo code, discount type (percent off, dollar off, etc.), value, dates, and audience/channels.
- Set status to Active and save.
- At checkout, enter the code in the POS Promo code… field and click Apply before paying. A second code is accepted only after Multiple discount codes is turned on.
Run a marketing campaign (email / SMS)
- Open Campaigns (or the Campaigns tab under Promos).
- Click New Campaign / Create Campaign.
- Choose channels (Email and/or SMS), target audience, message, and optionally link an existing promotion.
- Launch the campaign to send to opted-in customers who have the matching contact info.
How do I take JuzePOS payments on my own website?
Use the Payments API. Create a key under Settings → Developer, then either redirect shoppers to a JuzePOS hosted pay page or charge a card token from your site. Tutorial: Payments API for your website.
How do I see what to reorder?
Owners and managers open Insights in the sidebar. The briefing uses this store’s own sales: pace versus the previous window, what sold, when the register is busy, what to reorder, and stock that is sitting still. Pro includes it. Enterprise includes it and emails a weekly brief every Monday. On Free or Starter, the owner adds it for $79/month under Settings → Payments. Full steps are in Insights.
Can a sale use more than one discount code?
Only if an owner or manager turns on Multiple discount codes under Promos (or More → Promos & Campaigns on mobile). Until then, the register keeps the first code and refuses a second one. When stacking is on, each code applies to what is left after the previous code, and the same code cannot be used twice.
When does checkout require a photo of the customer’s ID?
You set that under Settings → Integrations → When to photograph an ID (mobile: Settings → ID PHOTO). Age-restricted products require a photo on every tender unless you turn that off. You can also require a photo when a selected tender is at or above a dollar minimum. Photos are deleted after 18 months.
How do I set up loyalty rewards for my customers?
Loyalty is included on Starter and higher (not Free). Configure it under Settings → Loyalty, share your signup link/QR so customers join, then look them up by phone on POS to earn and redeem. Full steps are in Loyalty rewards.
- Upgrade to Starter (or higher) if you are on Free.
- Open Settings → Loyalty, enable the program, set earn/redeem rates, and save.
- At POS, look up the customer, optionally redeem points for a discount, then complete payment to earn points on the visit.
